Currently, the hardware used in DSL and Cable based modems does not support the ability to send and receive faxes or perform voice messaging operations. Until DSL and Cable modems support the commands necessary for software such as FaxTalk Messenger Pro you will not be able to use DSL or cable modems with FaxTalk Messenger Pro. This is true for all fax and voice messaging software.

You will need to have to have a qualifying FaxTalk program already installed on the computer as the FaxTalk Messenger Pro upgrade software will search your hard disk for a qualifying FaxTalk product before installing the FaxTalk Messenger Pro software. The upgrade version will not install unless a qualifying FaxTalk program is already installed.

You should check with your modem or computer manufacturer to determine if your modem supports "Wake on Ring" when in sleep mode.
